The train fare will be vibrant and based on the prevailing fare of the Shatabdi on the very same route. During the lean period, the fare will be like of the Shatabdi, 20 per cent more during peak duration and 30 per cent throughout the joyful season, the sources said.

In case of cancellation of the train, an automated full refund on validated and waitlisted e-tickets will be made. There will be no requirement of cancelling the ticket or filing TDR in such case, the sources declared.

Premium food and beverages will be supplied to the passengers on board and the costs for that will be included in the ticket fare.

Each coach will be supplied with an RO water filter in addition to the packaged drinking water bottle for each traveler.

The sources stated there will be no concessional tickets on the train but kids below five years of age need no ticket.

Likewise, there will be no tatkal quota or premium tatkal quota in the train, they stated, including that there will be just General Quota and Foreign Tourist Quota. Foreign Tourist Quota of six seats in Executive Class and 12 in Chair Car will be offered for Foreign Tourists.

Both the Tejas trains are a test case to evaluate the handling of the trains by non-railway personal entity.

The 2nd privately operated IRCTC’s premium Tejas train, which will ply between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, will be introduced on January 17, sources said on Saturday.

Like in the first Tejas, which runs on the Delhi-Lucknow path, the trains will compensate guests if the new train gets postponed.

First industrial run of the Tejas train will be on January 19. It will ply on Ahmedabad – Mumbai- Ahmedabad route for 6 days a week with Thursday as an off-day for upkeep, the sources said.

The train will be equipped with all modern onboard facilities for guaranteeing high-level comfort to guests.

The IRCTC, the catering and tourist arm of Indian Railways, is planning to imbibe regional delicacies from the local and ethnic cuisines to suit the taste buds of passengers, they said.

Intending to bring services in railways on par with airline companies, the sources said service in the train will be done through trolleys comparable to airlines.

It is another step by the Ministry of Railways in its endeavour to enhance the general taking a trip experience of rail guests by offering advanced amenities to them on trains, they stated.

According to the sources, the IRCTC will compensate each traveler with Rs 100 in case the train is postponed by more than one hour and Rs 250 in case of hold-up of more than two hours.

This, all travelers taking a trip on the train will be offered with Rail Travel Insurance of up to Rs 25 Lakhs, free of cost by the IRCTC.

This complimentary travel insurance will likewise include unique coverage of Rs 1 lakh against break-in during the travel duration of guests.
